Compensation range:  $90,000 to $120,000 based on our Davis, CA office location.  

 LOCATION: This position is located in Davis, CA.

Basic Job Function

We are seeking an experienced, well-rounded HR professional to play a key role in supporting and executing critical HR functions, including recruiting, retention, compensation, employee relations, compliance, and career development. This role will work collaboratively with the HR team and business leaders to ensure we continue to attract, engage, and develop top talent while contributing to a strong and inclusive workplace culture.

This role will partner to implement strategies that foster career growth, retention, and an engaging team member experience. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, adaptable, and passionate about helping team members thrive while balancing high-volume HR work across multiple areas

 

Essential Duties and Accountabilities

Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning

  • Lead full-cycle recruiting for key roles, ensuring a high-touch and inclusive hiring experience.
  • Partner with hiring managers to define career pathways and build strong pipelines for team member growth and advancement.
  • Use data-driven insights to refine hiring strategies, enhance employer branding, and attract top-tier talent.

Team member Engagement, Retention & Career Development

  • Foster career growth and mentorship opportunities through structured career pathing and internal development programs.
  • Partner with leaders to implement retention strategies, ensuring long-term team member success and satisfaction.
  • Promote a culture of continuous feedback, performance coaching, and professional development.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Conduct market analysis and pay equity reviews to ensure competitive and fair compensation practices.
  • Support benefits administration and develop total rewards strategies that align with team member needs and company goals.

Employee Relations, Compliance & HR Strategy Execution

  • Serve as a trusted advisor on employee relations, performance management, and HR best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, and lead policy updates.
  • Support and contribute to the execution and refinement of the HR strategy, aligning with business objectives.

HR Operations & Process Improvement

  • Lead or support HR operational functions, including HRIS administration, reporting, and process improvements.
  • Drive initiatives that create a culture of collaboration, innovation, and inclusivity.
  • Implement HR workflows that enhance efficiency, team member experience, and organizational effectiveness.

HR Data Reporting, Dashboards & Compliance

  • Manage and maintain HRIS data, ensuring accuracy in records, and workforce analytics.
  • Develop and generate HR reports and dashboards, tracking and reporting on key metrics.
  • Analyze HR data to identify trends, guide workforce planning, and support strategic decision-making.
  • Collaborate with leadership to provide data-driven insights on hiring and retention initiatives.
  • Assist in audits and compliance reporting to ensure adherence to employment laws and internal policies.

HR Projects

  • Lead or support key HR projects.

 

Qualifications & Experience

Required

  • 10 years of HR experience across multiple disciplines, including recruiting, compensation, employee relations, and career development.
  • HR Certification.

Preferred

  • Strong experience with HR systems (preferably UKG Pro).
  • Deep knowledge of compensation, performance management, hiring, compliance, and employee relations, with the ability to apply best practices effectively.
  • Experience in engagement and retention strategies, with a focus on career growth, mentorship, and internal mobility.
  • Data-driven mindset with the ability to analyze HR metrics to guide strategic employment planning.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to lead or support HR programs of all sizes.
  • A proactive, solutions-oriented approach with a passion for fostering an inclusive, engaged, and high-performing workforce.
