Job Title: On-call Daily Substitute Teacher, Paraeducator or Tutor
Compensation: $110 per day, $55 per half-day, hourly for noon aide jobs (2.25-2.5 hour shifts)
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: Prefer a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university, but will consider applicants who are working towards a degree, especially in Education, as well as those who have relevant experience supervising children in non-school settings.
- Professional Certification: Not required
- Specialized Knowledge Preferred: child development, instructing learners, cultural proficiency, behavior management, basic use of classroom technology
- Hiring Requirement: Successful completion of DESE mandated CORI and fingerprinting
- Preferred Experience:
- Ideally, but not required, experience working with children in a school setting
- Experience supervising groups of children in other settings such as camps, teams, scouting programs, theatre, etc.
- Experience working with diverse children, including English Language Learners, and students with special needs
- Skills:
- Create a welcoming, supportive, and equitable learning environment
- Follow lesson plans left by the educator
- Support student learning through whole group, small group, and one-to-one instruction
- Manage student behavior in a warm manner with high expectations
- Communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with students and staff
- Multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Have a passion for working with students
- Flexible and Collaborative mindset
- Demostrate a growth mindset for students and self
