What are the responsibilities and job description for the Crisis Specialist position at Westbrook Health Services, Inc?
Summary: Provides center and community-based crisis stabilization, case management, and assessment services for youth and families. This will include helping youths who are experiencing emotional or behavioral crisis by interrupting the immediate crisis and ensuring youth and their families are safe and supported. This will also include providing support and skills necessary to return youths and families to routine functioning and maintain children in their homes or current living arrangements, schools, and communities whenever possible.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned to meet consumer and agency needs.
- Plan and establish services and operating procedures to meet goals of the program, evaluating the need for additional or changes to existing services.
- Provide daily outreach to high-risk consumers.
- Seek out consumers in community setting.
- Provide linkage/referral for consumers with services.
- Collaborate with other agencies relating to high-risk consumer issues.
- Provide supportive counseling services within the scope of training and competencies.
- Provide crisis assistance as needed by the consumer.
- Participate in Crisis on-call schedule.
- Work with staff, clients and others in a professional, cooperative, ethical, respectful and effective manner.
