SUMMARY :
A Westbrook Metals warehouse worker is the focal point of our service commitment to our customers. It is one of the things that make us different from our competitors. Our warehouse workers must present a professional personal image as well as a positive mental attitude for our customers.
A warehouse worker for Westbrook Metals, Inc. assists our customers by pulling stock, cutting stock to the customers' specifications, and either loading it on the customer vehicle or delivering the order with a Westbrook Metals, Inc. delivery vehicle.
A warehouse worker also unloads delivery trucks, stocks the product in our warehouse bins, and prepares UPS orders for outside shipment.
AUTHORITY AND REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
The Warehouse worker is hired by and reports to the Manager.
A warehouse worker is authorized to receive cash or checks from customers when delivering a merchandise order after providing the customer with the proper receipt.
The Warehouse worker has the authority to sign for the receipt of inventory delivered to our warehouse. When doing this, they are also responsible for ensuring that the packing list is matched correctly with the material received.
They are also specifically authorized to purchase gasoline for our delivery vehicles, using the corporate gas card.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES :
A Warehouse worker does not supervise another position at Westbrook Metals, Inc.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Comply with all pertinent governmental laws, rules, and regulations in the performance of duties.
- Perform all duties in a manner that supports the defined mission of Westbrook Metals, Inc.
- Communicate any unusual needs regarding training, safety, scheduling inventory, supplies, and equipment are communicated to the Manager in a detailed and timely manner to facilitate the appropriate action.

QUALIFICATION REOUIREMENTS :

EDUCATION pod / or EXPERIENCE :
High school diploma or general education degree (OED), or one to three months of. related experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS :
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS :
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, diameter, square footage and square inches. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Ability to convert inch to foot conversions, decimal and fractional.
REASONING ABILITY : Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
