Job Summary:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Preschool/Childcare Teacher with a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential to join our team. The ideal candidate will create a nurturing, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for children ages birth to 5 years. This role requires a strong understanding of early childhood education principles and a commitment to fostering the holistic development of each child.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that promote social, emotional, physical, and cognitive growth.
- Create a safe and welcoming classroom environment that encourages exploration and learning.
- Observe and assess children’s development and progress, maintaining accurate records and documentation.
- Collaborate with parents and caregivers to support each child's growth and development.
- Foster positive relationships with children, encouraging their self-esteem and independence.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and stimulating classroom environment.
- Adhere to all licensing and regulatory standards, ensuring a safe and healthy learning space.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and training to stay current with best practices in early childhood education.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the educational experience and share innovative teaching strategies.
- Engage in community outreach and promote the center's programs.
Qualifications:
- CDA credential required; additional coursework in early childhood education is a plus.
- Previous experience working with children ages birth to 5 years in a childcare or preschool setting.
- Strong understanding of child development principles and early childhood education practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
- Patience, creativity, and a genuine passion for working with young children.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the individual needs of children.
- Basic first aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $12.50 - $15.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
