We are seeking a highly skilled Safety and Compliance Officer to join our team at Westchester County Government's Department of Labs and Research.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring and ensuring compliance with regulatory safety standards and guidelines, conducting regular safety inspections and audits of laboratory spaces, and evaluating laboratory procedures and processes for potential risks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensures that safety equipment (e.g., eyewash stations, fire extinguishers, first-aid kits) is properly maintained and functional.
- Prepares and submits reports as needed for internal and regulatory purposes.
Preferred Qualifications: Certification in Laboratory Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, or Occupational Health & Safety (CIH, CSP).
