Job Summary: # The Pharmacy Manager of Specialty and Retail Pharmacy provides strategic oversight and operational leadership for both specialty and retail pharmacy services. This role ensures compliance with regulatory standards, drives continuous quality improvement, and optimizes clinical and operational performance. The Pharmacy Manager is responsible for managing staff, workflows, inventory, and financial operations to deliver seamless, patient-centered care. Collaboration with internal departments and external partners ensures high-quality outcomes, while the role also focuses on maintaining accreditations and optimizing the 340B drug pricing program. # Responsibilities:# Lead day-to-day operations for both specialty and retail pharmacy services, ensuring workflows support timely and efficient medication delivery Oversee inventory management, ensuring compliance with 340B program requirements and minimizing waste through optimized procurement strategies Establish and monitor operational key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure continuous quality improvement and financial sustainability Maintain and grow relationships with specialty clinics and providers, ensuring alignment between pharmacy operations and clinical needs Develop and implement strategic initiatives to expand services and drive revenue growth in both specialty and retail pharmacy settings Ensure compliance with federal, state, and accreditation requirements, including URAC and Joint Commission standards Develop and maintain policies and procedures that align with best practices in specialty and retail pharmacy operations Oversee adherence to the 340B drug pricing program, supporting audits and compliance initiatives as needed Lead quality improvement efforts to enhance patient safety, optimize therapeutic outcomes, and improve operational efficiencies Collaborate with the Director of Pharmacy to develop annual budgets and manage financial performance Monitor payer contracts, negotiate agreements, and maintain partnerships with manufacturers to ensure financial sustainability Identify and implement opportunities for new revenue streams, service expansions, and cost savings Oversee the recruitment, training, and performance evaluation of pharmacists, technicians, and support staff across both services Foster a collaborative work environment that encourages teamwork, continuous learning, and professional development Provide mentorship and precept pharmacy students, residents, and interns, fostering leadership and clinical expertise within the department Coordinate staff schedules, ensuring adequate coverage and efficient use of resources Collaborate with healthcare providers to integrate pharmacy services into interdisciplinary care teams, especially for chronic and complex conditions Oversee patient counseling, medication therapy management (MTM), and adherence support programs to ensure optimal patient outcomes Serve as a clinical resource for specialty pharmacy patients, staff, and healthcare providers, offering drug information and access support # Qualifications/Requirements: # Experience: # ############## Pharm.D. or BS Pharm from accredited School of Pharmacy, required. # Education: # ############## MHA, MBA, MPH, or other related advanced degree, preferred. ############## PGY1/PGY2 residency in Health-System Pharmacy Administration or Specialty Pharmacy, preffered.
