Job Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Supervisor to join our plant management team. The successful candidate will be accountable for the supervision and operation of production shifts, focusing on manpower scheduling, efficiency, quality, safety, housekeeping, health, and environmental requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct and coordinate hourly workers in operating various machines used for producing plastic compounds and blends.
- Ensure safe and efficient plant operation to meet customer and corporate requirements.
- Maintain excellent housekeeping standards and oversee department/shift quality, performance, and safety.
- Manage line staffing, scheduling vacations, personal days, and employee absences.
- Investigate accidents, administer safety policies, and provide corrective coaching when necessary.
- Monitor compliance with established standards, policies, and procedures.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, technical, or related field (preferred) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum 3-5 years of progressive supervisory experience in a unionized manufacturing facility.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to interact with customers, promote new business opportunities, and demonstrate good judgment.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Email proficiency.
- Knowledge of 5s and Lean Manufacturing (a plus).
