We currently have a Full-time opening for a Certified Medical Assistant/Medical Receptionist to provide direct patient care under the supervision of appropriate staff. These positions interact professionally and courteously with patients, families and their guardians to ensure the highest quality care and patient satisfaction.
To support our delivery of quality patient care you will:
- Manage patient flow and room patients, gathering pertinent information for the provider (e.g. gathering patient history, taking vital signs, specimen collection, blood draws, simple diagnostic testing, etc.,
- Gather personal and clinical information from patient, readies paperwork (forms and questionnaires) and communicates information to care team as appropriate
- Participate in developing and updating of HPI, Social History, vitals, assessment and plans for patients in our state of the art EMR
- Communicate with patients and their family to put them at ease
- Preview the schedule in advance, re-evaluates it throughout the day; tracks the flow of the clinic schedule to keep team on track and on time
- Check in and check out processes including patient registration, copay collection
- Answer phones, schedule appointments
- Work in partnership with team members; collaborates with care team to ensure patient’s healthcare needs are being met
- Ability to communicate effectively with Providers and others to resolve issues
- Ability to demonstrate reliability and responsiveness to patients, families, and co-workers
- Professional demeanor
- Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) a plus!
What We’re Looking For
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Medical Assistant Certification required, or LPN certification
- At least 2 years recent experience in primary care, urgent care or pediatric setting
- Must have a valid driver’s license & reliable transportation
- Must have experience in phlebotomy/venipuncture
- EMR experience required, preferably Athena
