    The Learning Experience Design Manager leads the learning experience design (LXD) team

    and collaborates with academic and business leaders across the university to create and

    enhance Westcliff University's course offerings and students' learning experiences. This role

    is instrumental in ensuring the successful development and maintenance of curricula for new

    and enhanced courses in multiple modalities. The Manager is responsible for setting and

    reinforcing high curriculum standards and course quality in all course development

    processes. This position requires a strong commitment to continuous improvement and

    effective communication, inclusive teamwork, innovative problem-solving, and change

    communication. This role reports to the Sr. Director of Academic Initiatives and Institutional

    Effectiveness.

    Requirements

    Major Responsibility Areas :

  • Oversee and optimize the course development process and workflows to ensure
  • seamless work transitions between the LXD team and other partners in accordance with

    deadlines.

  • Identify and implement strategies to facilitate accurate program and course information
  • exchange with various departments, such as the Registrar's Office, Faculty Affairs, the

    Assessment Office, the Education Technology, Affiliated Institutions, and the Colleges.

  • Review, prioritize, and assign course development related tasks and projects to the LXD
  • team members, considering individual skills, experiences, and workloads.

  • Monitor work progress and team performance to ensure timely delivery of rigorous,
  • relevant, and inclusive curricula that foster engaging learning experience.

  • Develop and implement professional development strategies for the team, fostering a
  • culture of team learning, respect, and trust.

  • Collaborate with deans and program chairs to plan program modifications and new
  • program development initiatives and prioritize the delivery timelines for required course

    development tasks.

  • Acts as a consultant to deans and program chairs in curriculum mapping, course,
  • program and university learning outcomes alignments, and program learning outcomes

    enhancements.

  • Provide reports on curriculum development in various contexts, including sharing
  • updates at academic leadership meetings, contributing to college semester reports and

    program reviews.

    Qualifications / Requirements :

  • 5-7 years of experience in course development, higher education, or related field
  • Master's degree or higher in any field.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills, with a track record of successfully managing
  • diverse teams and overseeing multiple projects concurrently.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, adept at engaging with stakeholders
  • across all organizational levels effectively.

  • Demonstrated experience in managing ambiguity and successfully bringing initiatives
  • from concept to full execution.

  • Ability to work in a fast paced, ever changing environment while maintaining organization
  • and attention to detail.

  • Physical and Mental Requirements :
  • Physical Requirements : This job requires normal physical mobility, including the
  • ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time, reach with hands and arms,

    talk and hear. Normal hand-eye coordination; arm, hand and finger dexterity,

    including the ability to grasp and lift up to 40 pounds, is also required.

  • Mental Requirements : This job requires the ability to read, recall, write, and
  • understand information. This job also requires the ability to work under

    moderate pressure and to manage multiple tasks concurrently.

  • Environment : This job is normally performed in a clean, well-lighted, heated and
  • cooled office area / classroom.
