What are the responsibilities and job description for the Level 3 Computer Technician position at Westcoast Computer Services, Inc.?
Westcoast Computers is looking for a qualified Level 3 Technician to install, maintain and repair computers and networks in the field for our customer and internally for its employees. Technicians need to have medical practice experience. You will be the one to ensure that the IT infrastructure is in place and is used to its maximum capabilities.
As a computer technician you must be well-versed in computer systems and network functions. The ideal candidate will be able to work diligently and accurately and will possess a great problem-solving ability to fix issues and ensure functionality.
The goal is to install and maintain high quality networks and computer systems. Applicants must be willing to work evenings and weekends as needed.
Responsibilities
- Set up hardware and install and configure software and drivers
- Maintain and repair technological equipment (e.g. routers) or peripheral devices
- Install well-functioning LAN/WAN and other networks and manage components (servers, IPs etc.)
- Manage security options and software in computers and networks to maintain privacy and protection from attacks
- Perform regular upgrades to ensure systems remain updated
- Troubleshoot system failures or bugs and provide solutions to restore functionality
- Arrange maintenance sessions to discover and mend inefficiencies
- Keep records of repairs and fixes for future reference
- Offer timely technical support and teach users how to utilize computers correctly
Requirements
Determine users’ technical needs and provide them with appropriate solutions
- Install hardware, software and device drivers on standalone computers
- Install and configure computer networks including LAN and WAN
- Manage network configurations to ensure that all computers on a network can
Communicate effectively
- Test computers peripherals, hardware and software to ensure that they are working appropriately
- Upgrade software, patches and operating systems on a continuous basis
- Install and configure monitors, keyboards and printers
- Troubleshoot hardware and software problems
- Act as a technical resource in order to assist users with resolving computer issues
- Answer tickets and emails pertaining to users’ computer problems
- Ensure that all computers are secured effectively by installing and updating antivirus software Set up and organize IPs appropriately
- Exceptional organizing and time-management skills
- Analyze network problems and manage preventative maintenance procedures
- Explain the role of network applications and equipment to the end users
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
