Asset Management Shop Manager - Ames, IA

Position Summary:

We have an immediate need for a full-time Shop Manager at our Ames, IA facility. As a Shop Manager, you will play a crucial role in supporting the maintenance and operation of our rental fleet assets and shop facilities.

Some of the work that you will do:

• Schedule, train, supervise and motivate employees supporting asset maintenance activities.
• Prioritize the maintenance requests and activities and schedule labor as needed.

• Assist and ensure safety of loading and unloading rental equipment from trucks, ensuring proper handling and organization.
• Coordinate labor to assist in inspecting rental units to ensure they are in good working condition and comply with safety requirements.
• Coordinate with Project Management, Logistics, and onsite Warehouse for Rental Asset shipping and receiving.
• Ensure preventative maintenance tasks on rental assets are completed.
• Survey premises and equipment to ensure the cleanliness and organization of the shop area.
• Conduct routine inspections of the shop equipment to ensure it is in good working order.

• Understanding of safety protocols and willingness to adhere to safety guidelines and ensure direct reports are following all safety rules.
• Ability to give instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
• Physical fitness and ability to lift heavy equipment and perform manual labor.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Valid unexpired driver's license.

• Previous experience in a leadership role.
• Welding and/or Forklift certification preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn new skills.
