Centralized Issue Facility (CIF) Stock Clerk
Job Description Summary:
The Stock Clerk at the Central Issue Facility (CIF) is responsible for the receipt, storage, issuance, and inventory of equipment, materials, tools, and merchandise in support of the U.S. Army’s logistics operations. Under the general supervision of the CIF Supervisor and direct supervision of the Warehouse Specialist Lead, the Stock Clerk ensures the efficient and accurate management of stock items, as well as the fulfillment of customer orders, including organizational clothing and individual equipment (OCIE). The position also requires active participation in warehouse maintenance, adherence to safety protocols, and the management of daily administrative tasks.
This role plays an essential part in ensuring that the CIF warehouse operates efficiently and that all logistical requirements are met in a timely and accurate manner, supporting the mission readiness of U.S. Army units.
Key Responsibilities:
- Stock Management:
- Receive, inspect, and store equipment, supplies, and materials in the CIF warehouse.
- Ensure accurate identification and labeling of stock items for proper inventory control.
- Issue supplies to customers based on their requests and needs.
- Conduct periodic or perpetual inventories and report discrepancies.
- Manage and track the issuance and return (turn-in) of OCIE gear to customers, ensuring compliance with Army regulations.
- Warehouse Operations:
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment, including internal and external warehouse areas.
- Perform manual labor tasks such as lifting, pushing, pulling, carrying, and organizing stock, with the ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Utilize hand tools as required for basic warehouse functions.
- Participate in warehouse maintenance and clean-up activities to support operational readiness.
- Cross-utilize skills in other job areas as needed, such as assisting the Admin office with filing documents and finalizing customer records.
- Administrative Support:
- Process incoming orders, apply necessary identification to articles, and request supplies as needed.
- Support contract requirements related to environmental, safety, and security, including adherence to safety protocols.
- Utilize office equipment (fax machine, copier, scanner) and maintain proficiency in Microsoft Office (Level 1/basic proficiency) for record-keeping and communication purposes.
- Maintain accurate records of stock movements, issues, and returns, and assist with report generation.
- Compliance and Safety:
- Pass initial and random drug tests in accordance with Army policies.
- Follow safety guidelines and use proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when required.
- Comply with all applicable environmental and security protocols in daily operations.
Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Must possess a current driver’s license with a good driving record.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) required for administrative tasks.
- Familiarity with Army organizational clothing and individual equipment (OCIE) and Army supply warehouse systems is a plus.
- Must pass a background check and be able to work in a secure and regulated environment.
- Willingness to be cross-utilized in other administrative or warehouse functions when necessary.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of stock control procedures and warehouse operations.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and squatting, and handle heavy equipment or supplies as needed.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills to manage competing priorities.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure the accuracy of stock inventory and customer orders.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team to meet contract requirements and customer needs.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
