Supply & Services Installation Property Book Office (IPBO) Supply Technician
Job Description Summary :
The Supply Technician in the IPBO section performs technical supply management duties related to asset requisition, receipt, inventory management, issue, redistribution, turn-in, and asset tracking for depot, local, or other supply activities. This position requires a strong understanding of supply systems and policies, as well as the ability to manage and track inventory within standardized guidelines. The Supply Technician works under the general supervision of the Supply Technician Lead and is responsible for supporting a variety of supply functions, often working with different commodity areas or supply segments. The role involves utilizing information systems such as GCSS-A and AESIP to process supply actions, ensuring compliance with DOD / Army / Navy / Air Force regulations.
The Supply Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and accurate management of Army property and supplies, supporting installation property book operations. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and familiarity with Army supply systems and regulations. The Supply Technician will be responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy, processing supply transactions, and ensuring compliance with DOD and Army regulations
Key Responsibilities :
- Perform asset requisition, receipt, short-term holding, inventory, issue, and redistribution tasks for various types of property (Classes II, IV, V, VII, expendable, and durable).
- Track and maintain property records, including hand receipts and reconciliations of discrepancies.
- Process asset turn-in and ensure accurate reporting of asset conditions and locations.
- Conduct regular inventories of supply commodities, ensuring stock levels are accurate and compliance with inventory management standards.
- Process and document supply transactions through systems such as GCSS-A, AESIP, MIW, FMFWEB, and ISM, ensuring compliance with Army regulations and policies.
- Perform analysis of inventory discrepancies, propose solutions, and ensure corrective actions are taken promptly.
- Assist with the preparation and processing of property book actions, ensuring all transactions are documented and compliant with established guidelines.
- Provide technical support and guidance for supply-related tasks, including asset requisition and turn-in procedures.
- Support the tracking of serialized and non-serialized property and maintain updated records in appropriate supply systems.
- Ensure quality control procedures are followed in all supply actions, ensuring assets are handled, stored, and processed in compliance with DOD / Army / Navy / Air Force regulations.
- Assist with auditing and reconciliation of property records and ensure compliance with physical security and safety standards.
- Maintain awareness of changes in supply policies, regulations, and best practices, ensuring consistent adherence to current guidelines.
- Assist with maintaining environmental, safety, and security standards in the storage and handling of supplies.
- Support contract requirements related to safety, security, and other logistical support needs as assigned.
- Enter and update data related to supply transactions into the appropriate Army software programs and maintain accurate records.
- Assist in preparing and processing reports for supply chain activities, including inventory status and asset movement reports.
