We are seeking an Associate Production Planner / Buyer to join our team. You will schedule activities of production departments and purchase materials for the product or groups of products to which assigned.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Purchase materials required to support the forecast.
- Handle supplier correspondence regarding prices, delivery dates, changes in quantities and delivery issues. Update system and report changes to the interested parties in a timely manner as required.
- Issue requests for quotes/proposals (RFQ/RFP) and select best source consistent with cost, quality and delivery requirements.
- Maintain appropriate inventory levels consistent with inventory goals set by management.
- Improve product cost/profitability by reducing total acquisition cost.
- Plans and manages the daily production schedules to meet customer delivery requirements and best utilize the company’s production capacity.
- Manages inventory levels by scheduling shop activities and purchasing materials from outside suppliers to meet production schedules.
- Owns the data input and integrity of this data in the manufacturing system for completed work orders and related component items.
- Interfaces with manufacturing personnel, the purchasing department and supervisors on material status and production planning issues.
- Reviews master production schedule and work orders.
- Establishes priorities for specific customer orders.
- Attend core team meetings and provide status on production schedule, material availability and lead times.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Associate Degree in Business or Computer Science, strongly preferred.
- Prior work experience in production or purchasing strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of SAP strongly preferred.
- Microsoft Office skills.
- Good oral and written communication skills.

Salary : $43,000 - $56,000
