Salary Range: $2,500 Stipend | Hours per week: 4 hour - Part Time |
Summer School Program - July 7 - August 1 (8am - 12pm)
Location: Westerly Middle School
General Statement: Provide support to the educational process with specific focus on instructional and mentoring practices. This includes maintaining a positive learning environment, where all students are encouraged to participate, ask questions and generally receive the individual attention they deserve to effectively learn the material in a lesson plan.
Responsibilities:
- Teaches content and skills in English language, literature, composition, reading, and journalism students, utilizing a standards based course of study developed by the English Department.
- Facilitates programs and monitors implementation of curriculum that meets the needs of all students.
- Follow the standardized follow-up plan to ensure implementation and best practice in the classroom.
- Works closely with District, Elementary, High School and Middle School Administrators.
- Receives, distributes and maintains inventory for all books, supplies and equipment in the classroom.
- Performs other related tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Experience:
- Knowledge of web-based alternative learning programs is preferred.
- At least 3 years of relevant experience is preferred.
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Certification & Licensing:
- Must meet the current RI Department of Education requirements and or certifications.
- Authorized to work in the USA
- Current national background check without disqualifying results at time of hire.
