Salary Range: $125 - $175 /Day | Hours per week: 7-35 |
- Per Diem Substitute Teacher
- $125.00 per day the first year worked
- After 100 days worked within 1 school year, increase pay based on the below salary schedule
- Maximum pay is $150 per day which can be reached as early as the 4th year worked
- Start each school year earning the last earned rate of pay
- Long Term Substitute Teacher & Per Diem RI Certified/Retired Substitute Teacher
- $150 per day the first year worked
- After 100 days worked within 1 school year, increase pay based on the below salary schedule
- Maximum pay is $175 per day which can be reached as early as the 4th year worked
- Start each school year earning the last earned rate of pay
- Must work 11 consecutive days in the same assignment
- Must be certified in the subject area in which they are subbing
- In the event the District is unable to find a sub certified in the subject, with the approval of the Assistant Superintendent, a sub who is not certified in the subject area can fill the assignment at $125 per day
- After 20 days worked, pay will increase to $130
Job Summary: Provide support to the educational process with specific focus on instructional and mentoring practices. This includes maintaining a positive learning environment, where all students are encouraged to participate, ask questions and generally receive the individual attention they deserve to effectively learn the material in a lesson plan.
Responsibilities:
- Manage student learning in accordance with the goals of the District.
- Implement lesson plans, while ensuring the integrity of academic time and in a manner which motivates students to learn and participate.
- Organize students for effective instruction.
- Ensure the adequate supervision to assure health, welfare, and safety of all students.
- Maintain and respect confidentiality of student and school personnel information.
- Comply with and support school and District regulations and policies.
- Must be able to follow oral and written directions and have the ability to establish effective working relationships with staff and students.
- Ability to maintain effective classroom management strategies.
- Report all student injuries, accidents, illnesses, and discipline problems to the appropriate authority immediately or as soon as is reasonably possible.
- Perform all other related duties as assigned by building administrator(s) in accordance with District policies and practices.
Qualifications:
- Experience:
- 3 years of relevant experience preferred.
- Education:
- Bachelor's Degree required.
- Certification & Licensing:
- Must meet the current RI Department of Education requirements and or certifications.
