SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor, the Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing duties to repair and maintain machinery, equipment, building and facilities, requiring a broad knowledge of maintenance skills including mechanical repair, plumbing, welding, carpentry, fabrication and a basic knowledge of electrical repair.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Install, repair, rebuild, and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment used in production and related services.
- Listen for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunction and discuss machine operation variations with the manager or other resources to diagnose problems or repair the machine.
- Make repairs or adjustments to keep equipment in production.
- Rebuild machines and attachments to involve dismantling, inspection, machining, or replacement of purchased parts.
- Perform various activities relative to the installation and relocation of existing machines and equipment to involve dismantling, erection, leveling, fitting, and aligning operations.
- Perform maintenance on the buildings, facilities, and the grounds.
- Assist in determining the nature and scope of forthcoming projects and the requirements for completion.
- Maintain required maintenance logs and files.
- Able to lift at 50 pounds frequently and occasionally lift up to 100 pounds.
- Perform routine housekeeping activities in the department and ensure adherence to established safety procedures and requirements.
- Perform preventative maintenance on all machinery.
