What are the responsibilities and job description for the Child Development Intern position at Western Carolina Community Action?
- WNCSource has a paid Child Development Internship available for the Summer 2025.
- These positions will involve teaching in our preschool summer care program.
- A housing stipend will be provided.
This is an intermittent position paying $20/hr. for 10 weeks.
Teacher responsibilities include:
- Engaging in classroom activities and teaching in a manner consistent with the philosophy and goals of the WNCSource Head Start program building and maintaining a positive, nurturing, and supportive relationship with the children and families.
- Planning and implementing learning experiences as part of the Head Start curriculum that address physical health and development, social and emotional development, approaches to learning, language development and communication, and cognitive development.
- Partnering with families to develop positive, open, relationship-based two-way communication using home visits, parent/teacher conferences, and other communication tools.
