We are currently looking for a construction laborer to join our team. Experience preferred, but not required. Must be over 18 and have a valid drivers license- must be insurable (no SR22's). Must be able to pass a background check & drug screen. Competitive wages, DOE
Duties & Responsibilities The Duties and Responsibilities are as follows: Drive 5 yard dump truck (no CDL required) Dig Dirt using shovels Read Grades Lift & Carry objects & materials of various weights Prolonged use of jackhammer and pavement breaker Push & Pull objects General Clean up & Supply duties on the jobsite Practice Safety at all times including driving of company vehicles or use of equipment. Use PPE while on the jobsite ex: Hard Hat, Safety Glasses, Ear Protection, High Vis Vest, boots, pants and gloves. Take initiative & anticipate what needs to be done. Shown abilities & willingness to learn & understand your role on the team. Help keep trucks clean inside & out. Turn in bi-monthly vehicle inspection report to foreman and inform foreman of any problems that need immediate attention. Turn in any receipts to foreman immediately after purchasing parts, materials & fuel. Report injury or accident to foreman immediately.
Stay busy when on the jobsite or company time. Get permission from foreman or manager for time off or if you're going to be late, must give reasonable amount of notice if late or sick. Always be aware of safety issues, maintain a safe dig site and make supervisor aware of any issues.
Qualifications: Valid drivers license. Must be able to pass pre-employment MVR, criminal background check, drug screen and have acceptable/insurable driving record.
Physical Demands: This position requires the following- Regularly requires sitting, walking, bending and lifting for prolonged periods of time. The employee must have full range of body movements including the use of hands, feet and fingers to handle or feel objects and must be capable of bending, reaching and crouching. Must be able to manipulate shovel, pick-ax & other construction equipment. Must have command of all 5 senses- sight, hearing, touch, smell and taste. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust and focus. Must hear and speak well enough to conduct business over the phone or face to face for long periods of time Must be able to lift 75 lbs Work
Environment: This position will require working outdoors in various climate conditions ranging from very cold with rain/snow to very hot and humid. This includes ditches, excavation sites and confined locations. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high, with occasional periods of time exposed to machine noise. Work Week: Typical work week is 8 - 10 hour work days 5 days a week with regular weekend work, both days and nights. We do private residential, commercial and public prevailing wage work.
