Job Description: Lead IT Installation and Service Technician
The IT Installation and Service Technician Lead is a skilled position. In this role you will lead the installation and service of cameras and networking equipment around dairy operations and other livestock facilities. Our ideal candidate qualifications should include attention to detail, organization, team player, self-starter, willingness to learn new things, and passion for doing a quality job.
Responsibilities:
- Prior experience and deep knowledge of computer hardware and troubleshooting is required.
- Prior experience and knowledge of wireless networks, networking equipment, and security cameras is required.
- Deep knowledge of installation and configuration of various types of equipment and systems according to specifications.
- Prior experience and strong ability to build and maintain customer relationships.
- Prior experience leading and managing the work of a team.
- Ability to perform service calls. Test and troubleshoot equipment including but not limited to switches, bridges, and parlor systems. Assesses and designs networks using appropriate technology.
- Uses sound judgment in decision-making, problem-solving, project management and readily accepts ownership of personal decisions, behavior and or actions regardless of the outcome, to perform installation and service of products.
- Prior experience pulling a variety of cables and wires in a business setting is required.
- Performs jobs from high places (on poles and roofs,) ladders and bucket trucks, as determined by the system's requirements.
- Ability to use different and provide hand tools as required for each job.
- Lifts and carries loads of 50 lbs. or more, works in confined spaces such as crawl spaces or attics, works while standing 50 -70% of the time and performs work around electricity. Works in areas with exposure to moderate noise levels.
- Regular travel to customer livestock facilities is required. Drives company vehicle during performance of duties safely and responsibly during scheduled work days, and maintains a valid driver's license.
- Effectively communicates with customers and co-workers.
- Exposure and ability to work around livestock and other animals. Ability to work around foul smells and wet conditions.
- Included in on-call schedule rotation required.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Understanding of dairy equipment such as parlors, preferred but not required.
- Understanding of or willingness to learn technology.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Ability to work in a variety of temperatures indoors and outdoors.
- Ability to follow direction and work independently
- Valid state driver’s license and acceptable driving record required.
