Job Summary: The Compliance Supervisor is responsible to assist in the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of compliance programs, policies, and procedures; conduct regular reviews to ensure alignment with applicable laws, regulations, and industry best practices.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Organizes and oversees the schedules and work of direct reports
Directs assigned tasks and provides assistance as needed
Recruits and interviews prospective employees and chooses the best applicant based on skills, knowledge, and abilities required for the job
Provides orientation and training for new employees
Communicates expectations, coaches for improvement, and handles discipline and termination of employees as needed according to policy
Essential Job Functions:
Build and maintain driver profiles in PeopleNet
Manage, research, and assign all unidentified driving events
Track and audit all paper logs
Manage uncertified logs and driver log conflicts
Audit all fuel charges against driver logs
Answer all compliance calls from drivers to include assist with them log edits troubleshoot electronic logging device (ELD) issues and malfunctions
Advise and proactively assist drivers with avoiding hours of service violations
Order PeopleNet parts and assist shops with troubleshooting hardware and software issues
Complete fleet manager platform back office maintenance and administrative duties including building new user profiles on the admin side and managing assets
Track monthly reports, document, retrain, review or suspend based on policy every hours of service violation by making contact with each driver
Audit all personal conveyance and exception usage to ensure it’s being used properly by drivers
Verify all paperwork is accounted for on drivers not using an ELD
File and track driver six month history of hours of service violations
Pull and save accident logs and any related reports
Data entry and filing
Provide after-hours support as needed on the compliance evening and weekend hotline (Per On-Call Schedule)
Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and submit to the company random drug and alcohol program
Proficiency in basic computer skills including Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Google Workspace
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proven experience in a supervisory or leadership role, demonstrating the ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships at all levels
Preferred Qualifications:
One (1) year experience in a supervisory or management role
One (1) year experience in compliance, safety, or the transportation industry
Entry-level knowledge of hours of service, FMCSA, or DOT regulations
