Dental office: Dental Assistant

The Dental Assistant has direct responsibility for ensuring a positive patient experience while they are receiving treatment, which contributes to overall patient retention.

Key Responsibilities:

• Take direction from doctors and/or hygienists, assist them with dental procedures, and anticipate their needs.
• Prepare high-quality radiographs, review patient charts, and log relevant data and health history.
• Clean, sterilize, and prepare equipment and operatory spaces according to organizational procedures and guidelines.
• Partner with doctors, hygienists, operations leaders, and support staff to maintain excellent patient service and integrity.
• Assist front office staff with scheduling follow-up visits and tracking lab cases.
• Monitor dental supplies levels, order using approved formulary when assigned by Operations Leader.
• Follow organizational safety policies and procedures, adhering to OSHA compliance and BBP federal regulations.

Requirements:

• Current radiography certification required
• Dental Assistant certification, as required by state, or ability to become certified
• Maintain annual OSHA, HIPAA, and Infection Control training
• Exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills, including conflict resolution
• Strong organization, planning, and analytical skills
• Computer proficiency and ability to learn new programs as required
