What are the responsibilities and job description for the Experienced Generator Field Service Technician position at Western Diesel Services Inc?
CK Power is looking for an experienced Field Service Generator Technician at our St. Louis, MO location. In this position you will support customers by performing maintenance, diagnostic, and repair operations on power generation units. Option of 5x8 hour or 4x10 hour days. You will be issued a company-owned truck you can take home!
What You'll Do:
- Provide excellent customer service.
- Manage all aspects of critical power systems installation, start-up, and commissioning. Oversee correction of issues arising from commissioning.
- Perform diagnostic and repair procedures on all systems including PLCs, AC/DC, and switch gears.
- Perform scheduled and preventative maintenance on electric power generation equipment, including gas and diesel engines, generators, and transfer switches.
- Coordinate with installing electrical contractors.
- Participate in an On-Call rotation.
- Overnight travel as needed.
What You'll Need:
- 10 years' minimum experience with diesel power generation.
- AAS Electrical Power Generator Technician certification or graduation from a technical school.
- Possess generator diagnostic skills.
- Computer-literate.
- Self-directed.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills. Commitment to excellent customer service.
- Electrical Generating Systems Association (EGSA) certification a plus.
- Willingness and ability to be On-Call.
- Willingness and ability to travel overnight as needed.
- Willingness to become familiar with working off-site and with mining companies.
