The Pre-Delivery Inspector plays a crucial role in ensuring that products meet quality standards before they are delivered to customers. This position involves detailed inspections, troubleshooting, and problem-solving for complex systems and components, including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems. The ideal candidate will have prior mechanic experience and the ability to diagnose and repair issues using proper tools.
What You’ll Do:
- Product Inspection:
- Perform comprehensive pre-delivery inspections of vehicles, equipment, or products.
- Ensure all systems and components meet quality and functional standards.
- Inspect for cosmetic imperfections, proper assembly, and operational readiness.
- Troubleshooting & Diagnostics:
- Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Interpret engine codes and use diagnostic tools to identify problems.
- Locate and repair leaks, electrical faults, and system malfunctions.
- Repair & Fabrication:
- Perform minor repairs and adjustments as necessary to meet delivery standards.
- Fabricate parts when required using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Quality Assurance:
- Identify, document, and report defects or non-conformities.
- Collaborate with production and service teams to resolve quality issues.
- Documentation:
- Maintain accurate inspection and repair records, including checklists and reports.
- Document corrective actions taken during the inspection process.
- Compliance:
- Ensure products meet company, industry, and customer specifications.
- Stay updated on relevant regulatory and quality requirements.
- Communication:
- Provide detailed feedback to production, service, and quality teams.
- Offer suggestions for process and quality improvements.
What You’ll Need:
- High school diploma or equivalent (required); technical certification is a plus.
- Previous experience as a mechanic or in a related technical role (preferred).
- Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot engine codes and diagnose complex system issues.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic and repair tools.
- Experience with part fabrication (preferred).
- Attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read technical documents, blueprints, and specifications.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
Working Conditions:
- Work may involve standing, bending, and lifting for extended periods.
- Potential exposure to manufacturing noise and equipment.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as needed.
