CK Power is looking for a Service Writer at our St. Louis, MO location. This position supports the Service Department by scheduling service technicians for repairs and maintenance of diesel power generation units, engines, and heavy equipment.
What You’ll Do:
- Take incoming service calls and collect the needed data from the customer for the Service Department.
- Open “Service” jobs. Schedule and coordinate a team of shop and field service technicians.
- Create estimates or assist Sales team with estimates if needed.
- Create quotes for customers, ensuring proper flow of quote from technician to customer in a timely manner.
- Look over technician narratives for service jobs, ensuring all required material is on the job, and invoice. Ensure proper reports, time, and mileage are correctly applied to invoices.
- Answer customer service calls, provide maintenance reports, report next inspection upon request, and answer/relay information about invoicing.
- Set up/update Customer Cards, Service Items, Service Item Cards, and schedule Preventive Maintenance in the company tracking system.
- Final invoicing of Service Orders, ensuring proper payment methods are made by customers.
What You’ll Need:
- 2-3 years of experience in the parts/service industry, with emphasis on coordinating service responsibilities with service technicians and parts personnel.
- Friendly, customer-focused attitude. The ability to deal with many different types of customers, from a homeowner to an industrial building maintenance manager.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills. Excellent telephone etiquette.
- Strong computer skills.
- Ability to determine how to prioritize service work.
- Ability to function in a team environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills, process-driven mindset, and high degree of organizational skills.
- Honesty and integrity.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
What Helps:
- College or technical school experience preferred.
- Understanding of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems preferred.
