What are the responsibilities and job description for the Staff Engineer Industrial Engineering position at Western Digital?
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan and forecast volume mix (quantity and PB) for both short and longterm financial forecasts ensuring alignment with growth plans by segment TAM / share goals and product transitions.
- Drive consensus between various teams including Business Unit (BU) and Finance leads through alignment meetings such as regional L2 meetings Volume review meetings and revenue meetings.
- Coordinate with regional demand planners to gather sales inputs and align growth objectives.
- Disaggregate forecasts using Rapid Planning Tool (RPT) to a granular level (product family and region) essential for longterm material and capacity planning.
- Collaborate with regional demand planners to analyze trends for outbound forecast alignment and execution improvement.
- Enhance Consumer Solutions IBP process through improved utilization of data analytics and data visualization for datadriven decisionmaking.
- Coordinate with the data science team and expand the usage of machine learning models to further improve forecast accuracy.
