We are seeking highly motivated students to be a part of our RAMP (Summer Intern) program. These paid summer internship opportunities are designed to jump start your career offering onthejob training and a robust summer of events. As a RAMP participant youll work alongside technology industry professionals on realworld projects giving you the tools and experience to get your career off the ground. Additionally Ramp participants will attend networking events participate in workshops and present to the WD leadership team.
As a Data Engineering intern you will design implement and maintain computer codes to query transform and integrate data from various sources. You will help a team of seasoned material scientists test engineers and subject matter experts to extract value & insights from the data. You will also assist in developing mathematical / statistical models to uncover correlations and causal relationships among metrics characterizing the performance of magnetic storage media. This is an exciting opportunity at the intersection of data engineering statistical modeling material science and physics.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Collaborate with engineers from magnetic sputter equipment engineering and recording groups on a daytoday basis to build robust data pipelines and aggregate data into databases.
- Write code and documentation perform analysis of data to identify trends using statistical models or machine learning algorithms. Design and develop visualization tools / dashboards to report results.
- Share the key results with other members of the team provide suggestions for further analysis and receive feedback
