ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES :

Process Technicians function as the primary interface between the manufacturing maintenance and process and equipment engineering teams to ensure the consistent production of highquality wafers.
Process Technicians are responsible for monitoring the performance of tooling used in the manufacturing process and for helping to identify processing issues affecting output or product quality.
Process Technicians are also responsible for the cycle time within their area and must resolve any WIP that is delayed or on hold.
In addition Process Technicians are often directly involved in the resolution of tooling or processing issues and may recommend document and implement changes at the direction of the appropriate engineering group.

Process Technicians also play a vital role in the training and certification of lowerlevel operators.

Qualifications :

Preferred Qualifications or Equivalent Experience :

Knowledge and familiarity of semiconductor wafer manufacturing processes (thin film deposition ion mill reactive ion etch electroplating photolithography metrology sputter etch sputter deposition) and logistics

Knowledge of Statistical Process Control systems applications and rules

Knowledge of MESA or similar Shop floor Control Systems

Able to extract summarize interpret and present process data

Able to apply process data to decision making

Knowledge and familiarity of Six Sigma Lean Manufacturing Principles and DMAIC processes

Proficiency or experience with SQL or similar query languages

Proficiency or experience with VBA Excel and PowerPoint

Experience with Project Management applications

Leadership qualities and experience

History of problem solving; able to drive problems to resolution

Excellent communication skills verbal and written

Preferred Education Background or Equivalent Experience :

Bachelors of Science in either the following :

Engineering

Industrial Engineering

Materials Engineering

Chemical Engineering

Data Analysis or Statistics

Chemistry or Physics

Compensation & Benefits Details

An employees pay position within the salary range may be based on several factors including but not limited to (1) relevant education; qualifications; certifications; and experience; (2) skills ability knowledge of the job; (3) performance contribution and results; (4) geographic location; (5) shift; (6) internal and external equity; and (7) business and organizational needs.

The salary range is what we believe to be the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in California Colorado New York or remote jobs that can be performed in California Colorado and New York. This range may be modified in the future.

If your position is nonexempt you are eligible for overtime pay pursuant to company policy and applicable laws. You may also be eligible for shift differential pay depending on the shift to which you are assigned.

You will be eligible to participate in Western Digitals ShortTerm Incentive (STI) Plan which provides incentive awards based on Company and individual performance. Depending on your role and your performance you may be eligible to participate in our annual LongTerm Incentive (LTI) program which consists of restricted stock units (RSUs) or cash equivalents pursuant to the terms of the LTI plan. Please note that not all roles are eligible to participate in the LTI program and not all roles are eligible for equity under the LTI plan. RSU awards are also available to eligible new hires subject to Western Digitals Standard Terms and Conditions for Restricted Stock Unit Awards.
