Physical:
- Body positions and movements: this position requires the ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time, the ability to stoop, squat, kneel, bend, twist, and move heavy objects and work in inclement weather.
- Maintain the equipment and supplies assigned to crew.
- Gas up all fuel tanks and check vital fluids on equipment and vehicles daily.
- Practice safe operating procedures of all equipment.
- Report any issues on a site (actual or potential) to crew leader. And seek guidance and direction as necessary for performance of duties.
- Maintain a well-groomed, professional appearance with a clean company uniform.
- Mow, line trim, and clean up of all properties on an assigned route with issued equipment.
- Bed maintenance including power edging, de-weeding and cultivating.
- Power edging along walks and curbs.
- Trim and shape shrubbery.
- Thinning and pruning of deciduous shrubs and trees under 12’ – no climbing allowed.
- Site debris patrol and clean up.
- Water plants as directed.
- Planting of small plants as directed. (mainly flowers and perennials).
- Spring and fall clean up.
- Have an Illinois State CDL ‘A’ driver’s license with air brake endorsement.
- Plant Installation Knowledge – 3 years’ experience preferred.
- Must be able to lead crew members and follow supervisors’ directions.
- Follow and enforce the WDL Safety and Best Practices.
