We’re hiring Summer Inclusion Support Staff to assist youth with disabilities as they participate in Full Day Summer Camps at park districts.

We're looking for college students, teachers, paraprofessionals, retirees, high schoolers or anyone age 16 who has the desire to make a difference.
Job Description:
- Support children & teens with special needs - helping them have FUN, socialize, grow, and achieve.
- Camps will have leaders and assistants. Your focus will be supporting an individual.
- This position is mainly at Summer Day Camps; but we help at other recreational programs, sports, and lessons.
- Note: This is a seasonal summer position; but we also have programs all year round.
Responsibilities:
- Support a camper’s needs (physical, emotional, behavioral) and provide instructions, redirection, and adaptations - as they are included in fun peer activities and interactions.
- You could assist the same individual each day or be paired with a different kid each week.
Where:
- We work in 9 communities: Bloomingdale, Carol Stream, Glen Ellyn, Naperville, Roselle, Warrenville, West Chicago, Wheaton, and Winfield.
- Note: We try to keep staff in their preferred area; but you can increase the possibility to work more by being open to various towns.
- Locations: Park District summer camps, pools, sports fields
Hours/Schedule:
- We’re flexible. Let us know your preferred days of the week and timeframes.
- You could work up to 40 hours a week or as little as 6 hours if you prefer only 1 day a week. Assigned hours are based on your availability, preferences, skillset, and our scheduling needs.
- Most camps meet daily M-F, while some are 2 or 3 days a week (T/Th or M/W/F). All are on weekdays.
- Length: usually 6 to 8 hours. Examples: 7a-3p, 8a-4p, 9a-3p
- Duration: 8–12 weeks (June, July, August)

Requirements:
- Perform job duties independently.
- Firsthand experience supporting individuals with special needs.
- Effectively communicate with individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Be comfortable & capable of meeting various needs (behavioral, sensory, personal).
- Age 16 , with access to reliable transportation.
