Job Description: Asphalt Paving Foreman
Western Engineering Co Inc is seeking an experienced leader for an asphalt laydown crew. The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic, a commitment to safety and have some mechanical capabilities. Prior experience in the asphalt industry is highly preferred.
This role involves managing the crew, determining project quantities, ensuring high-quality workmanship, maintaining equipment, submitting crew hours in a timely fashion, training new crew members, and fulfilling any other duties assigned.
The position will be required to work flexible hours with the possibility of night work per contract requirements. Most of the work is located in or around the Omaha/Council Bluffs metro area, but occasional travel will be required.
Requirements
- Must have a valid driver's license with a good driving history
- Must be committed to providing and promoting a safe work environment
- Must be committed to producing quality workmanship
- Must have the ability to work in a high pressure, high stress environment
- Must be able to manage administrative duties in a timely manner
- Must be able to think and work independently
- Must be willing to work flexible hours, including days, nights, and weekends
- Some travel is required, usually staying within 100-mile radius of Council Bluffs in both Iowa and Nebraska
- Would prefer an individual with at least 2 years of asphalt laydown foreman experience
- Must pass pre-employment drug screening
