General Summary : Western Engineering Contractors Inc. is seeking a qualified Fueler / Mechanic for full-time employment. Western Engineering is a local contractor that is based in Loomis and performs work in the greater Sacramento area and surrounding foothills. Western Engineering is a reputable company that has been rooted in the industry for over 40 years. Essential Functions : Performing maintenance on and around construction equipment, such as : excavators, scrapers, pavers, motor graders, bull dozers, backhoes, on highway equipment and light duty vehicles. Fuel and lubing of equipment along with minor repairs and assisting in major repairs. Ability to work unsupervised at times. Maintains written records of maintenance performed. Familiar with taking oil samples of all fluids on all equipment during PM services. Education Requirements : High school diploma preferable. Experience Requirements : Mechanical aptitude, team-oriented people skills. Self-motivated, willingness to learn. Ability to comprehend maintenance manuals. Ability to reach multiple destinations by using a road map. Other Requirements : Must have personal basic hand and power tools required for the job. License / Certification : Valid California commercial driver’s license with hazmat, tanker and air brake endorsements. Benefits Health, vision, Life insurance and dental insurance plans offered.
