Your Impact:
As a Load Securement Instructor, you’ll be a leader, mentor, and industry expert, ensuring our drivers are trained in best-in-class securement techniques. You’ll play a key role in keeping freight moving safely and efficiently while helping drivers build confidence in their skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate proper load securement techniques
- Explain procedures for securing various types of cargo
- Evaluate and provide constructive feedback on drivers' load securement methods
Specific Areas of Training:
- Cargo Inspection
- Working Load Limits (chains, nylon straps, rope)
- Securing Various Cargo Types (coils, lumber, pipe containers, wire, rebar, sheetrock)
- Tarping Techniques
- Job Site and Workplace Safety
- Customer Policies and Procedures
Principal Duties/Responsibilities:
- Exhibit strong leadership abilities and the capacity to educate and motivate in a fast-paced environment
- Provide instruction and guidance on all aspects of flatbed load securement in accordance with FMCSA and Western Express standards
- Maintain accurate training records and reports
- Stay updated on industry best practices and regulatory changes
- Collaborate effectively with team members and management
Qualifications:
- Experience in load securement and flatbed operations is preferred
- OSHA, TIA, OE, or related safety/mechanical certifications (preferred but not required)
- Reliable transportation and a strong work ethic
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen
- Basic computer proficiency
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, when safe
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable experience and a valid CDL
Work Environment:
Given the collaborative nature of this role, in-person, in-office attendance is required for effective training delivery, team collaboration, and timely response to operational needs.
Due to the collaborative nature of the work environment, the spontaneous need for idea generation and execution, and the potential for expedited remediations, responses, or information gathering, in-person, in-office attendance is an essential function of this position.
