About Us: Western Extrusions Corporation is a national leader in the manufacturing of extruded aluminum products. Headquartered in Carrollton, Texas we manufacture quality products used in America’s critical infrastructure industries including but not limited to class 8 trucks, electric vehicles, truck trailers, utility scale solar power, electrical transmission, and numerous commercial construction products.
About the Role: The Buyer will directly report to the Purchasing Manager and will play a vital role in the operation of the Purchasing Department. The primary responsibility of this role is to continuously work with both internal and external customers for purchasing goods and services. This involves utilizing exceptional communication skills and attention to detail to ensure accurate and efficient procurement processes.
Your Responsibilities:
- Create and place purchase orders for goods and services, taking into consideration customer timelines.
- Execute standard purchasing processes efficiently.
- Calculate the correct order quantities based on customer purchase orders.
- Review current inventory levels and project timelines.
- Check and confirm supplier confirmations with purchase orders.
- Handle and reconcile any issues related to receiving and invoices.
- Coordinate and resolve supplier issues effectively.
- Proactively identify and assist in resolving any materials-related issues.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders.
- Utilize system for inventory analysis and oversight of inventory levels, work in progress, and month-end tasks.
- Collaborate with management on reporting capacity planning, base inventory management, supplier replenishment, and procurement activities.
- Assist in reporting supplier performance metrics and maintaining data integrity.
- Cultivate and develop strong partnerships with suppliers.
- Collaborate with others to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of all duties.
- Apply creative problem-solving approaches to address challenges in the area of responsibility.
- Adhere to all safety and quality guidelines and protocols to maintain a safe working environment including but not limited to adhering to all PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) requirements, immediate incident reporting, and adherence to both Safety Cardinal Rules and Quality Cardinal Rules, among others.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall success of the team.
What You Will Bring:
- Minimum of 1 year of buying experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Strong problem solving, delegation, conflict resolution, motivational and team building skills required.
- Excellent communication (written and oral), analytical, teamwork, and organizational skills.
- Proficient use of Microsoft Products (Teams, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word).
- Ability to work weekends and overtime, as needed required.
- Ability to perform Essential Duties and Responsibilities listed above.
- Promote, support, and enforce ISO 9001 standards as they apply to the facility.
