Custodial duties and responsibilities
Custodians perform a broad range of cleaning tasks, which vary according to the needs of facility but include
- Clean and maintain all common areas, breakrooms and driver's lounge areas
- Clean and maintain all restrooms
- Clean and maintain all showers and bunk rooms
- Clean and remove trash from offices as needed
General duties include:
- Vacuuming, mopping, dusting, and sanitizing surfaces.
- Selecting and utilizing appropriate cleaning agents to remove stains from surfaces.
- Applying soil-repellent chemicals and deodorizers to surfaces to remove odors.
- Reordering cleaning supplies as needed.
- Replenishing toiletries, such as toilet paper, paper towels and hand wash.
- Using chemicals, solvents, high-pressure water cleaners and other cleaning equipment, such as wet vacuums and other suction equipment.
- Adhering to health and safety guidelines.
