What are the responsibilities and job description for the Safety and Compliance Specialist- Weekends position at WESTERN FLYER EXPRESS INC?
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain compliance of all company policies and procedures, and DOT regulations
- Support DOT Drug Testing program, DOT physicals and annual reviews
- Screen driver files for compliance with company standards
- Verify and maintain compliant DQ files
- Access and maintenance of confidential information
- Access and maintenance of company sensitive information
- Process termination paperwork
- Monthly notifications of expiring credentials via AS400
- Update credentials in all systems as required
- Provide backup to the Safety manager as needed
- Process monthly violation report, provide retraining as needed
- Assign new hire orientation training
- Orientation of new drivers, provide training on CSA point system, HOS regulations and ELD
- Lead company drug testing and physical program, and annual documentation renewals
- Collect/review incoming driver/contractor credentials for DQ files
- Have working knowledge of ELD and dash camera systems and functionality
- Present orientation class with ACT/Rider policy, tracking of documents expiration/renewals
- Spreadsheet to AP/Settlements/Payroll/CBCS
Education and/or Work Experience:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with interal and external customers, Insuarance agents, freight broker, and others as related to job duties
- Excellent computer proficiency MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook), AS400
- Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service and accurate detail information
- Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completing within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Understanding of all FMCSA regulations
Physical Requirements
- Ability to preform the essential job functions consistently, safely and successfully with ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
- Must be able to listen and speak clearly on the telephone
