Job Summary:

The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily manufacturing operations, ensuring production goals are met efficiently while maintaining quality and safety standards. This role involves supervising production staff, optimizing workflows, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations.

Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Supervision & Leadership:

o Lead and manage a team of production workers, including training, mentoring, and performance evaluations.

o Assign tasks, monitor progress, and ensure production targets are achieved.

o Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork and continuous improvement

Production Operations:

o Oversee production schedules and workflow to ensure efficiency and minimize downtime.

o Monitor equipment and production lines, ensuring proper operation and maintenance.

o Troubleshoot production issues and implement corrective actions to maintain productivity.

o Compiles and ensures adherence to productions schedules.

o Continuously improves projects for the plant and identifies areas for increased efficiency.

o Meets with the team to communicate the status of daily products.

o Constantly checks on the processing and packaging of products and makes decisions as to what remedial actions must take place

o Ensures state/federal compliance in auditable areas including but not limited to: food safety audits, and plant inspections etc.

o Maintains detailed accurate production records

o Responsible for maintaining a safe work environment and ensuring that all staff members adhere to plant safety rules

Quality & Compliance:

o Ensure all products meet quality standards and customer specifications.

o Implement and enforce company policies, safety procedures, and regulatory requirements.

o Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify and resolve production defects.

Process Improvement:

o Identify opportunities for process optimization and waste reduction.

o Implement lean manufacturing practices and efficiency improvement strategies.

o Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and quality teams to enhance production processes.

Inventory & Reporting:

o Maintain accurate records of production output, downtime, and material usage.

o Ensure proper handling and usage of raw materials to minimize waste.

o Generate reports on production metrics, staff performance, and operational challenges.

Qualifications:

· High school diploma or equivalent (associate or bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, engineering, or a related field preferred).

· 3 years of experience in a production or manufacturing environment, with supervisory experience.

· Strong leadership and problem-solving skills.

· Knowledge of production processes, quality control, and safety regulations.

· Ability to operate and troubleshoot production machinery.

· Proficiency in production management software and Microsoft Office Suite.

· Excellent communication and organizational skills.

· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities. Design - Generates creative solutions; Uses feedback to modify designs; Applies design principles; Demonstrates attention to detail.

§ HACCP certified preferred

Food Safety And Quality Requirements / Responsibilities

§ Complies with all Plant, State and Federal OSHA, EPA, FDA, HACCP, and SQF FOOD SAFETY AND QUALITY regulations.

§ Complies with GMP’s in the plant.

§ Helps to investigate, resolve, and document complaints

§ Participates in business continuity planning

§ Is aware of and implements document control procedures\

§ Implements and monitors product development procedures

§ Identifies non-conforming product or equipment and resolves said issues in conformance to SQF FOOD SAFETY AND QUALITY regulations

§ Implements procedures to identify, document, and trace products throughout the production phase

§ Oversees the creation and implementation of procedures in the event of a product recall

§ Conducts all monitoring activities to assure finished goods comply with food safety and quality specifications.

§ Participates in food defense including the management of pests/vermin

§ Implements and creates allergen management procedures

§ Is aware of the standards of calibration with respect to SQF FOOD SAFETY AND QUALITY regulations and monitors all production equipment to assure compliance to said regulations

§ Monitors the production floor to assure proper hygiene/sanitation practices are followed in accordance to SQF FOOD SAFETY AND QUALITY regulations

§ Participates in the yearly review of the food safety system.

§ Conforms to personal hygiene, welfare, and processing polices

§ Assists in the maintenance of the Food Safety and Quality system.

§ Responsible for the implementation and overall maintenance of SQF FOOD SAFETY AND QUALITY programs

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $28.00 - $35.00 per hour
