Delivery Driver/ Warehouse Team member

Job Summary
This position involves direct interaction with customers to assess their needs and provide recommendations for the best products to address their specific issues. The role also includes loading, delivering, and unloading products for customers.

Essential Job Functions:

• Deliver bulk landscape materials, erosion control products, and other items within the Tri-State area.
• Load and unload delivery trucks efficiently and safely.
• Assist retail customers with selecting and loading landscape products, including 50-pound bags of seed/fertilizer and erosion control materials.
• Greet customers warmly upon entry and offer assistance.
• Inquire about customers' needs and guide them to the appropriate product area.
• Build positive relationships through engaging conversations and providing knowledgeable, accurate product recommendations.
• Coordinate delivery or pick-up arrangements for customer orders.
• Clearly communicate delivery charges to customers when applicable.
• Ensure products are properly prepared for secure and safe transportation.
• Stock products in the store as needed to maintain inventory levels.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment.
• Perform any other necessary tasks to ensure smooth store operations.

Required Skills:

• Strong communication skills, both oral and written, in English.
• Proficiency in operating office equipment, including copiers, fax machines, scanners, printers, and multi-line phones.
• Ability to read, write, and understand a variety of instructions, correspondence, and memos.
• Friendly, helpful, and approachable demeanor.
• Self-motivated with the ability to set goals and accomplish daily tasks.
• Basic knowledge of computers, including email and internet use.
• Ability to maintain positive relationships with coworkers, office personnel, supervisors, and management.
• Excellent customer service skills for both internal and external customers.
• Flexibility to perform various tasks as needed and to work a somewhat flexible schedule.
• Willingness to do whatever is necessary to maintain store operations and effectiveness.
• Dependable and able to work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to pass drug and alcohol tests.

Desirable Experience/Skills:

• 3 years of forklift experience.
• CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) required.
• Ability to understand customer needs and assist in selecting appropriate products.
• Willingness to become a subject matter expert in relevant areas.
• Experience in horticulture, turf management, pesticides, or erosion control is a plus.
