Requirements of a Rehabilitation Technician :
Required) Must be certified by the State of Iowa as a Certified Nurse Aide (CNA)
CPR Certification or the willingness to obtain it.
Fluent in English (reading, speaking, and writing).
Communication Skills : Effective communication with residents, families, and staff members is essential. Ability to handle multiple tasks while maintaining efficiency and composure.
Mental Resilience : Ability to work under stress, manage unexpected situations, and maintain focus on essential duties in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities of a Rehabilitation Technician
Restorative Therapy : Provide services to residents under the direction of a licensed therapist, assisting with care plans and treatment goals.
Reliable Attendance : Ensure timely attendance for all shifts, maintaining consistent and reliable work habits.
Care Coordination : Manage the filing of medical records, faxing, and emailing documentation to physicians, ensuring timely follow-up.
Scheduling : Assist with the scheduling of daily therapy sessions.
Activities of Daily Living : Observe and report changes in residents’ behavior, medical conditions, and transfer abilities to nursing staff. Assist residents with transfers as necessary.
Organization and Cleanliness : Maintain a clean, safe, and infection-free environment for residents and staff. Ensure therapy clinic and surrounding areas are organized and sanitized.
Professional Responsibilities : Submit daily reports and documentation to the Director of Therapy. Attend state-required in-service educational programs and comply with HIPAA regulations.
Communication and Teamwork : Foster a positive, respectful work environment by maintaining confidentiality and communicating effectively with coworkers, residents, and families.
