What are the responsibilities and job description for the COMBO WELDER position at Western Industrial Resources?
Position Responsibilities:
- Report to work on time and fit for duty, support the Western Industrial Resources safety culture.
- Follow directions.
- Repairs metal surface (e.g. doors, drain covers, fences, gates, tools, parts, fabrication, act) for the purpose of ensuring that items are in proper working condition. Demo of old iron & metal & installation of new materials.
- Transport various items (e.g. tools, equipment, supplies, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring the availability of materials required at job site.
- Assisting field supervisors and employees in remaining compliant with client, and company rules and regulations.
- Welding, cutting with torch, grinding, cutting with saws, rigging and signaling crane, forklift, boom truck, etc.
- Any other job duties that are required by management that pertain to this craft.
- Support Western Industrial Resources right to a drug free workplace.
- Use and support the use of our Stop Work Authority when necessary.
Qualifications:
- Current Welding Certification
- Minimum 4 years of experience in the craft.
- Must possess the hand tools required to complete their assigned duties.
- A positive attitude, self-motivated, eagerness to learn and a willingness to work hard every day.
- An ability to lead by a positive example and a commitment to working as a team.
- Attention and commitment to safety and an ability to follow instructions.
- Valid Driver’s license and clean driving record if assigned to a company vehicle.
- Ability to multi-task and attention to detail.
- Negative preemployment drug test.
- Perform basic math; read a variety of manuals, write documents prescribed formats, and/or present information to others; and solve practical problems.
- Knowledgeable on how to properly fabricate and how to interpret drawings or determine the best process for a particular application.
Education & Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to move 75 pounds.
- Physical dexterity, stamina, and excellent hand-eye coordination with the ability to: grasp, assemble and lift objects, stand, sit, and walk for extended periods over uneven surfaces, squat, bend, climb ladders and lie down.
Work Environment:
- Ability to work outdoors with constant exposure to heat, cold, wind and rain, noise and dusty conditions.
