Western Kentucky University is pleased to announce we are accepting applications for an Information Technology Consultant. The role of an Information Technology Consultant is to provide dedicated technical support to faculty and staff in Ogden College of Science and Engineering.
Knowledge and Skills Considered Essential for Success
- Extensive knowledge in providing hardware and software support for computer systems connected to enterprise networks
- Proven ability to troubleshoot common hardware and software issues on multiple platforms
- Proficiency with current Windows and Apple operating systems
- Familiarity with scientific and mathematical applications is a plus.
- Excellent critical thinking, professional judgment, and decision-making skills
- Excellent oral and written communication, and customer service skills
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Proven ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide endpoint support, software installation, and training to college faculty, staff and student employees
- Provide recommendations and technical assistance for college projects and purchases
- Responsible for supporting classrooms and labs, specialized setup and equipment in Ogden College
- Supporting basic setup of computers in research facilities in the college.
- Technical maintenance of departmental labs and other instructional facilities
- Assist in technological requirements for department and college accreditation reviews
- Provide coordination and contact between ITS and the college
- Maintain ITS standards and quality in the college
- Work closely with Endpoint engineers on software packaging and deployment options for varieties of software used in the college
- Other duties as required
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree
- Two years hands-on experience related to setup and support of endpoint systems and users.
Additional Information:
Hourly Range: $25.64 - $29.74
