What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part-time Specialist, Family Outreach position at Western Kentucky University?
The Family Outreach Specialist at the Clinical Education Complex (CEC) at Western Kentucky University (WKU) serves as a critical bridge between families and the specialized services offered by the CEC. The specialist works to ensure families are informed about and have access to the CEC's programs, guiding them through the intake process, supporting ongoing engagement, and providing a compassionate point of contact. This is a part-time, one year appointment with the possibility of continuation depending on funding/need.
Responsibilities:
- Family Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with families, caregivers, and community stakeholders.
- Outreach and Advocacy: Represent the Suzanne Vitale Clinical Education Complex at community events, conferences, and meetings. Advocate for the needs of individuals with diverse needs and their families, and actively promote awareness and understanding of relevant issues.
- Coordination of New Initiatives: Coordinate and organize autism assessments in collaboration with the Psychology Clinic at WKU and facilitate the training and protocols associated with the WHAS AAC Lending Library.

Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related field

Hourly Rate: $18.00
