About the Role
We are seeking a Title Abstractor to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for searching and analyzing public records to prepare units of land for certified title. This will involve examining liens, judgments, leases, plat books, maps, contracts, and agreements to verify legal description, ownership, and restrictions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Examine property and tax assessment records using courthouse computer systems
- Copy or summarize recorded documents, such as leases, right of ways, and judgments affecting specific property
- Create and review run sheets, deed plots, and flowcharts for abstracts and title opinions
- Prepare detailed reports based on research findings
Requirements:
- Highly organized and meticulous individual with excellent analytical skills
- Experience working with real estate titles, deeds, and other land documents preferred
- Able to read and interpret maps
- Able to interpret complex legal documents
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office software, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
