General Summary
Western Michigan University invites applications for the position of Faculty Specialist II – Clinical Specialist in the WMU Bronson School of Nursing. This is a tenure-track, academic year (9-month) position.
Major Duties
- Teaching courses in the Nursing curriculum online, hybrid and traditional formats including simulations in the laboratory setting.
- Supervise and instruct professional nursing students to work with clinical health problems, health and wellness promotion with individuals, groups and communities and uphold the values of diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging, and justice.
- Contribute to the missions of the School, College, and University.
- Service to the Department, the University, the profession, and the community.
- Contributing to an interdisciplinary environment of instruction, and community collaborations.
Minimum Qualifications
- Graduate degree in nursing from an accredited institution.
- Clinical expertise in one or more of the following areas: Medical Surgical, Geriatrics, and/or Mental Health.
- Current unencumbered Michigan registered nurse license.
- Commitment to uphold the values of diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging, and justice.
Desired Qualifications
- Teaching experience in a baccalaureate program in clinical areas, laboratory settings, on-line and/or classroom preferred.
- Community-based, interdisciplinary, inter-institutional experience/background preferred.
- Evidence of technological literacy and on-line instruction experience preferred.
