Western Midstream is a master limited partnership formed to own, develop, acquire, and operate midstream assets. We are engaged in the business of gathering, compressing, treating, processing, and transporting natural gas; gathering, stabilizing, and transporting condensate, natural gas liquids (NGLs), and crude oil; and gathering, transporting, and disposing of produced water for our customers.
Our core assets provide services for customers in the Delaware Basin in West Texas and New Mexico, and the DJ Basin in northeastern Colorado. Additional assets and investments are located in South Texas, Utah, and Wyoming.
Job Summary:
Western Midstream seeks a Commercial Development Representative to join the West Texas Commercial organization located in The Woodlands, TX office. The position will focus on commercial development opportunities in the Delaware Basin, including but not limited to, optimization and management of the Company’s existing commercial portfolio, as well as developing new business opportunities to drive growth.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years prior experience in Oil and Gas or midstream industry, with experience in midstream commercial/business development, gas marketing, financial analysis or engineering preferred
- A solid understanding of finance and strong analytical and financial skills including economic valuation and return on investment
- Advanced Excel skills (NPV, IRR, Cash Flow Modeling) and proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite
- Knowledge and understanding of contractual terms and conditions
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Collaborative team player with ability to interact and use influencing skills effectively with all levels of the organization, as well as with external representatives
- Ability to meet strict deadlines and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Occasional travel may be required
Responsibilities:
- Develop an extensive working knowledge of Company’s assets and contracts.
- Originate, develop, negotiate, and execute on new opportunities, while maintaining and optimizing existing commercial portfolio.
- Manage and expand business contacts within the industry through regular engagement to develop relationships, discuss current operations, identify new business opportunities, and gain market insight.
- Identify potential new customers and business opportunities and manage proposal development, financial analysis, and contract negotiations.
- Work closely with Engineering and Operations to originate and execute on expansion opportunities and system optimization.
- Support the development of cross commodity (gas, water, and oil) strategies.
- Communicate effectively and work closely with other groups within the organization including Engineering, Operations, Legal, Accounting, Planning, Corporate Development, etc.
- Create and deliver presentations that clearly articulate new opportunities and analysis to colleagues, management, and/or customers.
- Perform financial analysis of new business development opportunities and present cases to management.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Engineering or Science is required. Master’s in Business Administration or Finance is a plus.
Travel Requirements:
Travel will be required up to 10-15%.
Work Schedule:
This position follows a hybrid schedule working in office Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and working remote Wednesday and Friday. Monday-Thursday are 9 hours and Fridays are 4 hours.
