Job Summary:

WES seeks a qualified individual who can provide supervisory support for the Facility Mechanical Integrity (FMI) Program. Take a role in the planning, preparation, coordination and execution of facility inspections and Facility Integrity Services projects and project management. This position is located at Western Midstream’s Corporate Headquarters in The Woodlands, Texas as a member of the Asset Integrity Team.

Qualifications

  • 10 years of detail-oriented experience in mechanical integrity of oil and gas facilities is required
  • Strong expertise in pressure vessel, piping, and storage tank inspection and repair techniques
  • Strong understanding and application of project management process including design, bid procurement, AFE creation, execution, cost tracking, budgeting, forecasting, accruals, project closing, and documentation. Expert knowledge is preferred, ensuring safety, scope, schedule, costs, and quality are executed as planned
  • Strong understanding of metallurgy, failure mechanisms, and corrosion issues as they pertain to the oil & gas industry
  • Experience in minimizing critical paths during turnaround inspections
  • Competent knowledge of applicable industry codes; API-510/570/653 inspection codes, API-580 and API-581 risk-based inspection, API-571 corrosion damage mechanisms, API-579 fitness-for-service, ASME B31.3/B31.4/B31.8 piping and pipeline codes, ASME Sec VIII vessel design codes
  • Knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations such as OSHA 1910.119, DOT 192 and 195, and industry standards and practices such as ASTM, API, AMPP, ASME, etc
  • Experience in managing mechanical integrity data in industry tools such as MISTRAS Plant Condition Management Software (PCMS)
  • Must be able to interface and work effectively with a wide variety of people, both internal and external to WES including, Operations, contractors, and cross-discipline professionals
  • Strong initiative to work efficiently with accurate results
  • Have a high degree of personal organization and self-management
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work both collaboratively and independently
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, changing environment with strong analytical and time management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Power BI, etc.) is required
  • Asset Integrity experience is required
  • Project management experience is required

Responsibilities:

  • Manage Inspectors and Contractors performing corrosion and mechanical integrity related work, ensure quality deliverables in accordance with contract specifications
  • Create work scopes and bid documents for MI projects
  • Generate yearly Mechanical Integrity budgetary estimates and projected work scopes
  • Participate in contractor selection bid process
  • Apply all applicable SAP Process to manage notifications, work orders preparation and closing, parts ordering, job history recording and ensure work order closed after work completion with appropriate documentation
  • Review and provide technical input into capital/operations projects, particularly facility mechanical design requirements and material of construction choices
  • Monitor effectiveness of the Mechanical Integrity program, develop reports, and track KPIs
  • Support the Risk Based Inspection (RBI) initiative
  • Manage and endorse work permits for the project work and ensure that safety regulations, project safety plans, are understood and followed by the field personnel
  • Ensure safety of all employees and contractors working in the department by driving continuous improvement towards a true safety culture
  • Occasional requirement to work at the job site during the conduct of external and internal inspections of pressure equipment
  • Evaluate equipment condition and inspection findings. Issue recommendations for appropriate monitoring actions as necessary
  • Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Fit for Service (FFS) analysis
  • Participate in the Management of Change (MOC) process on corrosion and integrity management (IM) related changes as appropriate
  • Provides input to staffing requirements in support of project execution plan
  • Support other initiatives as needed

Education:

  • High School Diploma or higher required

Certifications / Licenses:

  • Minimum API-510/API-570 certification(s) or other relevant industry endorsement(s)

Travel:

  • 0- 30%

Work Schedule:

This position follows a hybrid schedule working in office Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and working remote Wednesday and Friday. Monday-Thursday are 9 hours and Fridays are 4 hours.
