This position is a forklift operator responsible for the safe and efficient movement of pallets throughout the Goshen Mill. Primary goal is to assure safe and efficient production and highest product integrity.
Responsibilities:
Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Clean-up left-over product around tanks and other equipment.
- Operate forklift and other equipment/ machinery to support production on a daily basis.
- Operate augers, belt-driven machinery and elevators during the production process.
- Operate yard dog and trailers.
- Operate grain cleaner machine.
- Continuously perform quality checks on finished products.
- Continuous use of an RF scanner during bulk receiving of products and goods.
- Cross-train with other departments to provide consistency throughout the Company.
- Provide back-up support for other roles as necessary.
- Available for overtime work on a scheduled or call-in basis, as necessary.
- Other duties as assigned by the manager/supervisor.
- Two years manufacturing experience, preferably in a warehouse/sacking environment
- Prior experience operating a front-end loader and/or heavy machinery.
- Yard dog experience; certification done on-site.
- Forklift experience; certification done on-site.
- Warehouse experience preferred.
- Basic operating knowledge of augers, belt-driven machinery, elevators, RF scanner and other equipment used in the production process.
- Understanding of machine operational processes and procedures, including LOTO.
- Familiarity with industrial equipment operations and care.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills.
- Pro-active, self-motivated, and honest.
- Basic computer skills.
- Continuously lift/move/push/pull objects weighing up to and including 50-pounds; regularly lift/move/push/pull objects weighing up to and including 125-pounds.
- Continuously get in/out of motorized equipment.
- Frequently stoop/crouch/bend/climb/push/pull objects to complete the essential functions of this position.
- Vision sufficient to safely perform the essential job tasks.
- Continuously exposed to outdoor/uncontrolled weather conditions.
- Regularly exposed to work near moving parts/equipment.
- Regularly exposed to major amounts of dust.
- Regularly exposed to moderate to severe noise levels.
- Occasionally exposed to chemicals used in the manufacturing process.
Note: Valid Driver’s License required for insurance purposes. Management retains the discretion to add to or change the duties of this position at any time.
The pay range for this position is $19.50/hr. to $20/hr. The Company offers paid vacation time, paid sick leave, medical, dental and vision plans as well as a 401(k) with employer match.
