Job Title: Clerk Phlebotomist

Key Responsibilities:
- Enter patient information into the computer system for laboratory testing.
- Obtain complete documentation for laboratory orders, including signed orders, medical necessity, and diagnosis codes.
- Process laboratory reports, fax or call results as needed, and document actions in the computer system.
- Collect lab specimens from inpatients and outpatients, including urine drug screens and breath alcohol tests.
- Answer incoming calls and direct them to the proper areas.
Requirements:
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Medical assistant or phlebotomy certification is preferred.
- Phlebotomy experience within the hospital setting is preferred.
- Excellent customer relation skills and ability to communicate effectively under stressful conditions are essential.
- Ability to maintain accurate records and work accurately despite frequent interruptions is crucial.
Physical and Mental Requirements:
- Must be able to sit and stand for extended periods.
- Must be able to use standard office equipment, including computers and telephones.
- Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
