Description:
PURPOSE STATEMENT
The Sitter will observe patients to prevent harm to themselves or others, and the sitter will work under the supervision of the Registered Nurse and/or Charge Nurse of the Unit.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Demonstrate positive customer service relations
- Remain focused on the patient during the time as a sitter, no use of cell phones, tablets, computers or reading.
- Assist co-workers as needed/requested
- Support the Medical Center’s Mission/Vision/Philosophy positively
- Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
- Perform other essential duties as assigned.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be self-motivated and have the ability to work within the established policies, procedures and practices prescribed by the hospital/clinic.
- Maintain mandatory education requirements.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to sit and stand, intermittent 8 to 12 hours a day.
- Continuously utilizes manual/bi-manual dexterity, near vision, speech, and hearing.
